Festival City Symphony invites Girl Scouts, family members, and friends to “American Mosaic,” a concert on Saturday, March 6, 2027, at Milwaukee’s beautiful Bradley Symphony Center. Girl Scouts are encouraged to arrive early for the 1:30 pm on-stage Meet the Musicians presentation, featuring instrument demonstrations by musicians of the orchestra.
Pre-concert activities and the concert are great for Girl Scouts of all ages! Participation relates to or completes steps 1, 2, and 3 of the Junior Musician badge.
The concert will showcase four extraordinary composers whose music reflects the energy, diversity, and imagination of the American experience. Amy Beach’s dazzling Bal Masqué opens , followed by Jennifer Higdon’s vibrant Peachtree Street and Joan Tower’s rhythmic Tambor. The program’s centerpiece is Florence Price’s Symphony No. 3, a powerful and expressive masterpiece that blends Romantic lyricism with African-American spiritual traditions and the infectious rhythms of the Juba dance. Together, these works reveal and showcase the rich diversity of orchestral music while celebrating the creativity, resilience, and vision of four brilliant American women.
Girl Scouts will enjoy:
- Commemorative patch for each Girl Scout in attendance (available at the information table on concert day)
- Pre-Concert Activities (1:30 p.m. on-stage):
