I Cellisti to perform at May 4 Pajama Jamboree

Festival City Symphony’s Spring Pajama Jamboree concert will feature a special guest ensemble, I Cellisti.  The student musicians from the Cello Institute of Milwaukee will be led by their director, Scott Cook.  The concert, “For the Child in All of Us,” is on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 7pm in the Bradley Pavilion of the Marcus Performing Arts Center.
Formed in 1998 by Scott Cook at the String Academy of Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, I Cellisti have earned regional and national renown for its rich sound virtuosity and varied repertoire.  The group of eight to ten cellists is composed of students of the Cello Institute of Milwaukee who range in age from ten to eighteen. Many former members have gone on to pursue music careers at the finest music schools, universities and conservatories in the country.  The current members represent seven different school districts from throughout Wisconsin and are the principal cellists of their school orchestras, the Wisconsin State Honors Orchestra and the Milwaukee Youth Symphony.  I Cellisti have been the featured ensemble at the Florida Cello Festival at the University of Miami, soloists with the Wisconsin Philharmonic and at the American String Teachers Association. They have performed on Wisconsin Public Radio and for the Civic Music Associations of Milwaukee and many times on the Music and More series in Racine, WI.
